Gaming laptops are no longer pricey machines with subpar components. They are now competing in the race with their desktop counterparts. Modern gaming laptops are not only affordable, but they can hold up on benchmarks as well. They are proving themselves a valuable choice for budget gaming on the go.

Lenovo Legion 5P provides both portability and power to gamers. This is a stylish gaming laptop with powerful which are hard to find at its price. An Intel CPU combined with Nvidia dedicated graphics and a 15-inch FHD display put on a great show.

Our Lenovo Legion 5P review covers the design and chassis evaluation. We have also reviewed its keyboard, connectivity options, and hardware selection. Let’s see how well it competes against other Core i5 gaming laptops.

Lenovo Legion 5P Specs Review

CPU: Intel Core i5-10300H / 2.5GHz Max. Turbo Speed 4.5GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (GDDR6, 6GB)

Display: 15.6 inches Full HD (1920 x 1080)

Memory Size: 8 GB

Storage Capacity: 256 GB SSD

OS: Windows 10

Design & Chassis Build

The model we evaluated for the Lenovo Legion 5P review came in a grey colour. It has the same design that we have seen in its predecessor Lenovo Legion laptops. There are no frills on the outside and the exterior lid only feature the Legion logo.

Lenovo Legion 5P is a bit heavy and thicker than other models of the same series. It weighs about 5.3 pounds with dimensions of 14.3 x 10.2 x 1 inches. This makes it bulky than regular laptops but not far from the gaming laptops.

Ports & Connectivity

The exhaust vents on the side of Legion 5 takes up more space. However, Lenovo has brilliantly managed the ports selection on its large backside. During our Lenovo Legion 5P review, we noticed a USB-A port and webcam kill-switch button on its right edge. The left side bears a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port.

On the backside, there is another USB-C port and three USB-A ports. Also, there is an RJ45 Ethernet port, but we missed the Mini DisplayPort.

Display & Keyboard

As highlighted, the display on the Lenovo Legion 5 is Full HD. It has a 15.6-inches screen which is excellent for 1080p gaming. The bezels around the sides and on the top are slim whereas the bottom is a little chunky. The IPS technology and 100% colour accuracy makes sure you get crispy visuals.

The keyboard on this 15-inch gaming laptop is available in two options. The basic model has a brilliant white keyboard layout with Numpad on the right side. The optional RGB keyboard has four-zone backlighting control and offers 100% anti-ghosting.

Hardware Selection

We found the hardware to be splurging during the Lenovo Legion 5P review. There is the Core i5-10300H CPU which offers up to 4.5GHz turbo speed. The RAM is 8GB while the storage capacity is 256GB SSD, which you can expand later. However, the best part of this gaming laptop is the RTX 2060 GPU which comes with a 6GB VRAM.

The presence of a powerful 80Whr battery means you can work on it all day long. And if you are planning to go on a gaming streak, it can provide 5-hours of continuous gameplay on a single charge.

Final Verdict

We hope our Lenovo Legion 5P review has satisfied your inner gamer curiosity. The Legion 5P is a powerful choice for multitaskers and designers. This is one of the best gaming laptops with a design that suits your professional life. In case you want to explore more gaming laptops, visit our extensive collection at FiveTech.
