Talking about design, HP EliteDisplay E243m doesn’t look like your regular desktop monitor, thanks to its exceptionally designed body. HP EliteDisplay E243m carry a silver finish front while the back of the monitor has a dust resistant matte black surface. The 23.8” display of the monitor is bezel free on three sides, so you can enjoy an immersive visual experience. The IPS display of the HP EliteDisplay E243m delivers a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Moreover, screen refresh rates up to 60Hz and a 5ms response time are also exclusive features of E243m’s panel.

FHD display being offered in HP EliteDisplay E243m are still being used in the businesses. You may not perceive the display’s specs too much advanced, but it is still providing an excellent visibility, making it a suitable choice for reading and browsing.  

HP EliteDisplay E243m’s is not very much impressive, but it does a pretty much good job for normal use. However, colour accuracy of the monitor is just fantabulous since the DeltaE average is limited to 2.29. Moreover, colour temperature is also balanced and close to the ideal 6500K, hence the screen doesn’t look yellowish or bluish when viewing on all-black image. 

The good news is that you don’t need to calibrate the HP EliteDisplay E243m since it already comes in a pre-calibrated state. However, it is recommended to adjust the screen brightness to around 50% to have a better visibility. HP EliteDisplay E243m colour contrast is weak, and you may observe a grayish and dull screen and a bit washed out images while viewing dark images. 

Panel uniformity for the HP EliteDisplay E243d is quite decent since you can’t notice as backlight leaks. Please note that the HP EliteDisplay E243d doesn’t have FreeSync or G-Sync compatibility available. The 1080p resolution display offers refresh rates up to 60Hz, so, this monitor is not meant for gaming purposes. The monitor features an Input lag of 10ms, so it doesn’t feel sluggish or delayed with any type of use. 

HP EliteDisplay E243m doesn’t occupy a lot of space but it is slightly heavier than most of the similar sized monitors due to the metals used in its chassis. Build quality of HP EliteDisplay E243m is just excellent and the body of monitor is polished entirely, so there are no signs of cosmetic defects such as rough edges. While the stand provided with the monitor is quite stable and you would not have to listen that unpleasant creaking noises while moving the display to any side.  

The stand that comes with the HP EliteDisplay E243d features tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments, thus giving you the freedom to move the monitor in any direction as per your need. The pillar attached with the HP EliteDisplay E243m contain two flat bars which will allow you to slip your cables in between and giving the monitor a sleek look.  

On top of HP EliteDisplay E243m monitor, you can see a webcam with a 720p camera and dual microphones. This feature is particularly useful for doing conference calls and it eliminates the additional mess of a standalone webcam. You get a course of connectivity options with HP EliteDisplay E243m such as USB-C connector, DisplayPort Out, HDMI 1.4, USB 3.0 slots and jacks for audio input and output.  

Wrapping it up 

The HP EliteDisplay E243d is an excellent contender for best functional monitors, thanks to its features which lure the users that are looking for a functional display solution. HP EliteDisplay E243d can be easily used as a dock for USB-C devices such as the MacBook or Dell’s XPS for a streamlined setup. 

Although the factory calibration of the monitor is also sufficient for daily use, but users were expecting a more vibrant IPS panel in the monitor of this price range. The HP EliteDisplay E243d is a viable solution for home and business users, but the monitor’s expensive price tag may hinder the users from buying it. And the reason for this is the availability of more affordable options with the more or less same specification on the market.
