Lenovo ThinkPad X280

If you are not yet familiar with Lenovo Thinkpad series, the laptops produced in this series are portable Notebooks designed for innovative usage. While most of us already know about a lot of portable laptops introduced in the tech-market, the Lenovo Thinkpads stay highlighted. Today, we are going to talk about one of the latest additions in Thinkpad series, which has been redesigned by Lenovo.

Lenovo Thinkpad X280 is the real deal in Notebook range, especially if you are looking for appealing chassis, stunning display, and good keyboard. The battery equipped in this laptop is not over the top, still supports fast charging experience. This Thinkpad is newly designed comparatively to its older versions. If you are attracted more towards the exterior of laptops, this Lenovo Thinkpad is designed strikingly.

To learn more about specs and how well they can perform, you can swipe down through our Lenovo ThinkPad X280 review.

Specs

  • Intel Core i5 Processor – 1.70 GHz
  • 12.5-inch screen with 1366 x 768 Resolution
  • 16 GB RAM
  • Windows 10 Professional OS
  • Integrated/On-Board Graphics
  • 512GB SSD

The Display:  Bright & Vivid

Despite having a smaller screen, the display of Lenovo ThinkPad A280 does not compromise in the quality. Thankfully, TN panel is not used in this display and we get an IPS display instead. The IPS is known for providing comfortable viewing angles and better quality.

The colour reproduction of the screen produced bright and clear colours on the screen. When we watched our favourite season in FHD quality, the display showcased accurate colours of even the smallest characters on the screen. The maximum brightness offered by the display is around 305 nits, which is not more and not less either. This laptop uses the in-cell touch technology that enhances the touchscreen flow, and the tough digitizer is used in the same layer.

The 117% of sRGB colour gamut in the X280 is slightly above than the regular premium laptops. So, the colour contrasts can be seen in an excellent ratio on the display. If you observe the display overall, it’s not glossy in fact, the matte display avoids reflections.

Performance

Lenovo Thinkpad A280 is the ultimate performer when it comes to loading, downloading, and uploading. It features a core i5 Intel processor that starts with the base speed of 1.7 GHz and goes up to the maximum turbo speed of at least 3.9 GHz. No matter what are the number of files you are working on, or downloading, the speed of this Thinkpad does not slow down. This is one of the biggest reasons this ThinkPad is perfectly suitable for business users.

The RAM in this laptop is massively large i.e. 16GB, so in case you always stressed about memory, there’s nothing here to worry about. Along that, the solid-state drive storage of 512GB makes it up for intensive storage. You can store huge files, spreadsheets, and projects without a second thought.

Battery

Unfortunately, we were not entirely satisfied with the battery power, Lenovo X280 has for us. Lenovo has powered this laptop with 29Wh battery. Now in the real-life experiment, this battery is not enough for an all-day usage. With Wi-Fi on, and all activities going on, the laptop can last 8 hours. We expected the battery life to be more according to the 13-hour timing of the X270.

Verdict

Business professionals should be happier as Lenovo ThinkPad X280 is exclusively built for them. From the outclass display to the impressive performance and speed, the X280 is ideal for regular usage. This laptop is also designed for portable users, who are always travelling with their digital endeavours. You can also buy this laptop on 0% finance on the official Five Tech UK Store
